Summary: As a college graduate of geology. I feel that my experience gained early in my career as an MWD/LWD supervisor with experience in several different basins and plays has helped me gain a unique perscpective of overall objectives and goals required by operators. After becoming a directional driller, a solid understanding of geologic settings also led to an even better understanding of downhole conditions, processes, and common practices within various basins. No amount of education at a university can truly take the place of experience gained on the rigsite. Espiecially with regards to mentoring by thorough and seasoned Directional Drillers, Company Representatives, Drilling Superintendents and Drilling Engineers. I intend on continuing to work at the rigsite as I feel that it is the best environment to see new methods, as well as problems that arise and require a team effor to troubleshoot and resolve problems as they may occur. However, I would strongly consider moving into a managerial/coordinator position if the right opportunity presented itself.
